Once again, Chipotle is staffing up ahead of " burrito season ." And once again, the people are asking: "What the hell is burrito season?" Burrito season, the company says, represents its busiest time of the year. When I asked a spokesperson for Chipotle to shed some light on the mysteries of burrito season, her answer was both straightforward and perplexing. But after confirming the existence of burrito season, I was still left with two big questions.

A "Now Hiring" sign is displayed in front of a Chipotle restaurant on October 07, 2022 in Washington, DC. Hundreds of thousands of restaurant jobs disappeared as bars and eateries shuttered, either temporarily or permanently. But even before Covid, restaurants struggled to hire and retain younger workers, who often seek internships instead. Chipotle on Wednesday also touted new benefits that aim to help those younger workers tackle financial challenges. Additionally, Chipotle workers can also sign up for a Credi.ai debit card, which builds credit without fees or interest.

Source: Salad and GoWhen Sweetgreen went public two years ago, co-founder and CEO Jonathan Neman said the salad chain aspired to be the "McDonald's of its generation." But another salad rival could beat Sweetgreen to the punch: Salad and Go. One of its 48 ounce salads costs less than $7 and comes with chicken or tofu, while a comparable salad from Sweetgreen costs about $12. Two years later, Morrison took over as chief executive, departing Wall Street's favorite chicken wing chain after a decade in favor of a little-known salad chain that then had only 50 locations. Other salad players, such as Sweetgreen, Just Salad or Salata, are usually in the same markets as Salad and Go.

The big storyDon't let the weekend get away from youJLPH / Getty ImageWeekends seem like such a simple concept — two days away from work. Plan "anchor events" for your weekendAdvertisementVanderkam defined an anchor event as something you want to do during the weekend — any activity that's loosely planned ahead of time. She recommends thinking of the weekend in five chunks: Friday night, Saturday day, Saturday night, Sunday day, Sunday night. People can experiment with balancing responsibilities and free time, she said, since creating a fulfilling weekend is so individualized and requires work. Haselberger recommends that people ask themselves: What can you do on the weekend that is outside of something that you would normally do to make the weekend feel like it was a prolonged period of time?

At the time Justice O’Connor became a lawyer, women in that role were rare. As has now become familiar lore, after she graduated near the top of her class from Stanford Law School in 1952, she was unable to find work as a lawyer. As a justice, she made sure that opportunities denied to her were available to others. I always found it remarkable that I never heard Justice O’Connor talk with any bitterness of the barriers she faced pursuing her career. She met her husband, John, in law school, and they married shortly after graduation.

Roychowdhury also admitted to spray-painting the message “If abortions aren't safe then you aren't either” on the outside of the building. In some cases, these bots do the job better than humans, The Wall Street Journal reported. Working in waste management can be a dirty job, and recycling facilities across the country are facing major labor shortages, The Wall Street Journal reported. AI is being implemented in recycling facilities to sort out recyclable materials. The bots are also doing a better job at sorting out recyclables than human workers in some cases. Even though AI may change the way some recycling facilities and restaurants look, blue-collar jobs are generally considered to be safe from being overtaken by AI entirely.

Taco Bell is stepping up its breakfast game to compete with McDonald's. But lately, fast-food chains such as Wendy's and Taco Bell have demonstrated that they want to steal breakfast customers from McDonald's. Taco Bell leans into burritos and breakfast wraps, while the McDonald's menu is heavy on breakfast sandwiches.

“We are definitely going to pass this on.”A company spokesperson later told CNN that Chipotle hadn’t yet decided whether it will raise prices in California. Gavin Newsom in September signed legislation that raises the minimum wage to $20 an hour for fast food workers, and creates a council that can approve further increases in the future. The state’s current minimum wage is $15.50 an hour and will increase to $16 an hour on January 1. The new hourly wage for fast food workers will take effect on April 1 of next year. But workers have said that the higher minimum wage will make a meaningful difference in their lives.
